Rescue Organisation Ireland was nominated and won the "Emergency Services " category of the annual Leading Lights Award and were presented with it at Farmleigh House, Phoenix Park, Dublin on Wed. 11 December by the Chairman of the Road safety Authority , Gaye Byrne.
The ‘Leading Lights in Road Safety’ Awards were introduced in 2008 to celebrate the outstanding efforts of people across Ireland to make roads safer for everyone. The awards provide a special opportunity for members of the public to honour the contribution of exceptional people who promote road safety in their communities.
In regards to the ROI we won the Emergency Services category and this was presented to us since we are made up of individuals within the Emergency Services and deemed to have made an outstanding contribution to road safety in the community.
We are all very happy to be recognised in this way and this reiterates the point of how ROI is aiding the improvement of victims survival in road traffic collisions through our emphasis on the casualty centred extrication through our skills days and challenges.
