September will be a busy Month For the ROI and its Members.
Carlow skills day- the next installment sees the top teams showcase their abilities and the opportunity for anyone to give it a go.
Longford RTC Team - will be attending the Spanish National in Barcelona at the site of the Formula 1 Track with Nissan Cars donating some new cars for use at the event..... Best of luck guys.
Anthony Tynan - ROI assessor will be travelling to Luxembourg to shadow assess at their event and further his experience and add to his existing expertise.This will be a first for the ROI to attend an event in Luxembourg. Fly the Flag Anthony!!!
Mick Gahan & Declan Cassidy -ROI Assessors have been invited by AVEA to assess at their two day event in Alberta Canada furthering the International network for the ROI Organisation.
October - sees the World Rescue Organisation Challenge taking place in Clearwater Florida USA with an impressive Irish Contingent due to attend.
5 ROI Teams ( 3 x RTC & 2 Trauma Teams) will be representing IRELAND, the ROI and their respective Brigades- MEATH Fire & Rescue Service, CORK County Fire & Rescue Service and CARLOW Fire & Rescue Service. The teams have all competed Internationally before and done us all proud and we have no doubt they will step up to the plate once again... the very best of Luck guys!
To further enhance the Irish attendance ROI and WRO Treasurer Declan Cassidy will be travelling out to multi-task as an ROI/WRO Executive member and also to assess at the event as will ROI Head Assessor Mick Gahan who also was selected to assess.
Vice-Chair and event co-ordinater Walter Johnston has been requested by the WRC hosts NAVRA to assist with the scenario set-ups and pit co-ordination......well done Walter.
The WRO agm is due to take place at the event and two of the three surviving Founders of the ROI, Chairman Phil O Hare and ROI Secretary Padraig O Longaigh plan to represent the ROI at the agm continuing their committment to the Organisation as they have done since its Inaugauration. Unfortunately our third surviving Founder member Jason Van Der Velde is unavailable to attend but continues to assist with the Organisations Developement.
