Members of Rescue Organisation Ireland [ROI] were assisting Motor Sport Ireland at their training weekend at Mondello Park in Kildare last weekend [24/25-Jan-2015]. Rescue Units from Rally Rescue around the country as well as Motor Sport Rescue Services from Mondello Park took part in a two Day training event for rescue responders in the Motor Sport world.
The event included Medical expertise from Guest speakers across the Medical profession who also provided some hands on practical sessions which were well received. On the RTC element Motor Sport Ireland engaged the ROI to arrange for the training on vehicle extrication. ROI Assessors Mick Gahan, Declan Cassidy, Dr. Jason Van Der Velde and Mick Tobin provided their skills and knowledge to the Rescue teams attending. The attending teams interacted well with the ROI contingent which made for a very enjoyable and successful training weekend.
Rescue Organisation Ireland would like to congratulate Motor Sport Ireland in providing this opportunity and training forum for the sharing of rescue knowledge and skills, and look forward to a long and continuing working relationship. We would also like to give special mention to all the rescue teams who attended, for their input and their respective involvement throughout the weekend.
Last but not least a note of thanks to Motor Sport Rescue Services who provided the link between ROI and MSI in order for this collaboration to be achieved, and who ran overall a very well organised and successful event.
