Two trauma teams from Laois travelled across to the Luxembourg National Trauma & Rescue Challenge 2015 at the invitation of LRO. The event was held at the Scheierhaff Festikuss close to Sanem fire & civil protection station. Unusually high temperatures (38 degrees on Saturday) posed challenges for the organisers - but they laid on facilities such as a outdoor swimming pool, diving tank and an artificial beach with bar to  help the 9 extrication teams, 13 trauma teams, assessors and spectators manage the conditions!

The event was run to a very high standard, featuring a number of brand new cars sponsored by Renault in the extrication challenge as well as casualties and props with a high degree of realism in both trauma and extrication. The scenarios were very challenging, the trauma challenge included mass casualty scenarios which pushed teams to the limit.

Overall a very enjoyable and well run event, lots of useful experience gained, and we were delighted to be able to participate in it.
